Big Bear Imperial Brown Ale

A big brown ale that’s anything but grizzly

Is it an IPA, is it a Brown Ale? Or is it fair to say it’s the best of both? This is a style for the non-conformists, the pioneers, the frontier folk. It’s a big, dark beer up front, with toasty malt aromas, traces of coffee, and bursts of hop freshness. And with hints of toffee sweetness balancing the muscular hops, one sip of Big Bear will tell you, she may be bitter but she’s never grizzly.

PLEASE NOTE: This BrewPrint contains Dry Hops! The Dry Hop Filter is required to filter out hop debris.

Beer Characteristics

Alcohol by Volume*
Brewing Program:  Ale
Approximate Brewing Time:**  7-14 Days
Brew Notes:  Beware when brewing this bold beer, due to it’s vigorous fermentation it may overflow from the vent port for the first 48 hours. This BrewPrint has been improved with the inclusion of Dry Hops for enhanced flavour and aroma. We strongly recommend the use of the Dry Hop Filter to avoid blocking of kegging and bottling equipment from hop debris. You may brew without Dry Hops using BrewArt ingredients and substituting the Dry Hops for 2x Hops 2. Note you will need to use the appropriate brewing program, as listed above.
