This beer is the great pretender, with the appearance of a stout, and the crispness of a lager this is the perfect gateway beer to the dark side. When poured its appearance is a dark brown to black with a thick beige head. The aroma has small hints of roast malt, and noble hops, with a nice bready malt backbone. There is a slight caramel chocolate taste to start with a crisp lager like finish to keep you wanting to come back for more.
